To address and fill the gaps in medical education and prepare physicians-in-training to effectively operate in the context of 21st-century health care.
As students, we often notice that our medical curriculum has not been adequately updated to reflect contemporary trends and issues vital to the patients we serve, instead placing disproportionate emphasis on traditional, memorization-heavy knowledge. Students often ask themselves, where do we go to learn about, get connected with, and take action in these neglected areas? The in-Training Classroom responds to this question by providing dedicated space and resources for our peers hoping to address these key gaps in medical education.
The in-Training Classroom serves as a centralized virtual hub that provides educational and action-related resources for the 21st-century health professions student. Content includes curated educational tools, essays, and events related to overlooked topics such as narrative medicine, social justice, medical innovation, and more. The Classroom unites students, experts, and organizations with the goal of fostering discussion and catalyzing action on a broad scale, beyond the walls of individual institutions.
